Start with the tool's troubleshooting notes
Check that the original opens in the program that created it or in a PDF reader. A renamed file can still have the wrong internal format. Password-protected PDFs, unsupported characters and documents beyond resource limits may be refused.
Swedish tool instructions and English tool instructions describe the supported formats. The scan and text guide explains why a PDF with visible words may not have extractable text.
Useful details for a future bug report
- The tool you used and the step where the problem happened.
- Your browser version and device type.
- The file format, approximate size and page count.
- Whether the PDF contains text, scanned images or both.
- The general error category shown by the tool.
Use a new synthetic example if a reproducible file is needed. Do not include a CV, identity document, medical record, signature, confidential filename or document text.
